Bruin Brief 2021-07-30: Canvas Migration

Three things to know about Canvas:

1) We’ve started the campus changeover from CCLE to Canvas. A dedicated Health Sciences Leader will be hired soon to work specifically with Nursing (and others) for a smooth transition for all courses by Winter 2022. Stay tuned for regular meetings.

2) To latch on to new technology, we have an SON Early Adopter group. I need at least one more faculty member to join the SON Canvas Early Adopter Team. FACULTY: Let me know if you’d like to join us!

Basics of Canvas: Canvas dashboard, course settings, organization methods using the home page and modules. Through demos and discussions, learn how to organize your course, send communications, and assess student work.

Deeper dive into Canvas assignments and grades. LMS instructional designers demonstrate how to manage assignments, quizzes, and discussions with Speedgrader.
