Department Google Apps Account
We can ask for department @ucla.edu accounts. As a naming convention, preface with “son” (for “SON” since these are campus-wide, and we are requested to use all lowercase).
example: sonacademicaffairs@ucla.edu
The following Departmental Google Apps Request must be filled out be a Dean/Director/Chair/MSO/department IT (“Computing Services Coordinator”)

Requesting a Departmental Google Apps Account
UCLA departments can request an @g.ucla.edu/@ucla.edu Google Apps account for departmental use. These accounts do not include network access services (i.e. VPN, wireless, proxy, etc.) or access to other campus services such as Zoom, Box, or Slack. To apply for an account, a Dean, Director, Chair, MSO, Computing Services Coordinator/Local IT (or department equivalents) can submit a request via the IT Services Service Catalog:
Password Resets
If you have forgotten the password for your departmental email account, please submit a service request to request a password reset:
Service Expiration
Periodic account audits will be performed on departmental accounts. Warning messages will be sent via email when your account is being audited along with further information regarding renewal.
Research accounts
It is also possible to request accounts for research teams. For example, “osabrain@ucla.edu” could be used for email.
