File naming
It’s helpful if files sort alphabetically AND chronologically. To that end, we can either use:
Versions
“Review Letter for Person-v1.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-v2.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-v3.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-v4.docx”
Date as yyyy-mm-dd (international date format)
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-01.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-02.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-11.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-12.docx”
A combination
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-11.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-12.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-12-v2.docx”
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-12-v3.docx”
For edits, we can add initials
“Review Letter for Person-2022-07-12-v3+PMM.docx”
